Ty Garrett
Chief Instructor

Mr. Garrett started his martial arts training at age 7 and has been practicing ever since.  He has earned 5 black belts in traditional striking arts, and an undefeated full contact kick boxing record.  In his younger days, he used to compete at the IMAC International Championships.  In his competition prime, he earned 7 international titles.  After he switched his focus from competing to teaching he founded this academy, Extreme Martial Arts. He has been training in jiu jitsu for ten years and has his brown belt under Klay Pittman, who is a third degree black belt under Master Carlos Machado.”


 
Colin Gladman
Business Manager/Assistant Instructor
Mr. Gladman has the most history with Mr. Garrett because they started training together about 4 years before Extreme Martial Arts opened.  Mr. Gladman is a talented kickboxer who is also studying Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Casey Garrett
Assistant Instructor
Mrs. Garrett began her martial arts training in 2003 in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with Mr. Klay Pittman. In 2004 she met Mr. Garrett and began training with him. She is currently working towards her blackbelt.
Jerrod Busse
Assistant Instructor
Mr. Busse has been training under Mr. Garrett for 3.5 years in kickboxing and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He has competed in full contact kickboxing and jiu jitsu. His ultimate goal is to open his own academy. Mr. Busse is on track to receive his black belt in 2012
 
Jacob Potter
Assistant Instructor
Mr. Potter has been training with Mr. Garrett since 2006 in kickboxing and jiu jitsu. He has competed multiple times in full contact kickboxing and jiu jitsu events. His goal is to eventually open his own academy. Mr. Potter is on track to receive his black belt in 2012.

Mr. Klay Pittman
Mr. Klay Pittman, Chief Instructor of Pittman’s Academy of Martial Arts in Lubbock, Texas
Mr. Pittman was introduced to the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu by Royler Gracie, brother of the very famous Royce Gracie. Mr. Pittman quickly became a dedicated student of BJJ and started training directly under world renowned Professor Carlos Machado who is a cousin and prominent member of the Gracie Family. Mr. Pittman is now the highest ranking American student training under Mr. Machado.
 
Master Carlos Machado
Chief Instructor of RCJ Machado Jiu Jitsu in Dallas, TX.
Carlos Machado is nephew to one of the founders of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, late master Carlos Gracie.  After learning from his cousins from the Gracie family and his brothers the Machado’s (Roger, Rigan, Jean Jacques and John), Carlos is determined to keep the legacy going, and saves no effort in making his students among the best in the world.
